while ago my wife and I were watching Fox News and CNN, and a story was
reported about a young near teen female who was abducted from behind a gas
station. Her abduction was captured on a Security Video. My wife and I
watched as she failed to do any of the actions we teach kids every time we
teach Kids Smart or Child Safety. Later, they reported that she had been
murdered. Sad. Very Sad. It caused us to to reflect on our own daughter's
safety.
The next day, they re-reported this case and an additional
one about a boy the same age who was nearly abducted in New Jersey I
believe. The Story that they were reporting was "Dangerous times in
America," or something along those lines. The reporter told us how scary it
was that two children were confronted by a predator in the same week.
Wrong Story. THE REAL STORY WAS THAT THE YOUNG BOY DID
EVERYTHING RIGHT. We listened as they interviewed him about what had
happened. Every action he took is in our Kids Smart Program. Yet, the
news vendors reported the horror rather than the Hope.
We teach HOPE by educating children to trust their intuition,
create barriers of sound and distance, travel in groups and to seek
assistance. Role playing these and many other BEHAVIORS can and does save
lives.
Safety
can be taught, just like Character. Many people look at children as if THEY,
the children, are the problem. We believe that could not be further from the
truth. We, as parents, teachers and adults, are placed in the position to
teach children how to live their lives with Character and with Safety.

build your children's lives successfully.
